Coordinator, Health Care Payer Initiatives

Description:Under the direction of the Director of Business Operations, coordinates the planning, development and implementation of the MI Clinical Pathways Program. Acts as a resource for the Oncology Physician Resource (OPR) members and other participating physicians in all processes associated with the implementation of the clinical pathways programs within their respective practices. Acts as an operations and administrative liaison between the PRM Executive Management Team, OPR members, insurance representatives and P4 Healthcare.

The project coordinator will also contribute to the growth and support of the OPR membership through outreach, development of member services and member communications.

Duties:• Coordinates the physician recruitment process for the Clinical Pathways Program.
• Responds to all inquiries and concerns regarding the Pathways Program from both existing physician members and potential members (internal and external contacts) in a timely manner.
• Coordinates the implementation of the Clinical Pathways Program as developed by the PRM Executive Management Team in participating physician practices.
• Initiates and maintains communication with physician practice coordinators (as identified by physician members) and physicians to provide education regarding the Pathways, identify operational issues, and resolve concerns.
• Coordinates Pathways teleconferences, webcasts, regional workshops, and biannual education and recruiting activities. Coordinates all planning activities related to these events.
• Ensures distribution of appropriate forms, supplies, software and tools required for execution of the Pathways Program.
• Maintains all documents, files, and other associated materials related to the Program.
• Facilitates and maintains internal communication with Manager of Business Operations and PRM Executive Management Team.
• Participates in the development of performance measures for the Program.
• Provides continuous monitoring and feedback regarding member performance and compliance to members and the PRM Executive Management Team.
• Fosters positive working relationships between member practices, BCBSM, OPR, P4, insurance representatives, the PRM Executive Management Team and other PRM staff members.
• Performs other duties and functions as directed by the PRM Manager of Business Operations.

Qualifications:Knowledge and Abilities:
• Minimum Education: A level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of an Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field.
• Minimum Work Experience: Minimum five years of progressively more responsible experience in healthcare delivery and administration. Oncology management experience is strongly preferred.
• Analytical Demands: Requires a level of skill, knowledge, and ability sufficient to analyze the administrative compliance of physician members. Also requires a working knowledge of personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize workload
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of healthcare project initiatives
• Knowledge of healthcare, payer, and pharmaceutical industry, particularly as it relates to the functions of physician practices
• Knowledge of client relations
